About the NSAC Churches

In years past, the churches were asked to respond to a questionnaire that asked the following questions:

 * = To "sit" for a phenomena, is to conduct a session in which participants seek to communicate with spirit entities.  Such contact may be achieved via mental mediumship and manifest as spoken messages by a medium, or it may manifest as observable phenomena that is facilitated by a mediums, but that is directed by spirit entities.

Results

As noted in the above table, nine NSAC churches responded to the survey.

It is reasonable to draw the following conclusions from the results:

• Of the nine churches that responded, eight conduct development classes that are designed to experience phenomena and to develop abilities.  In fact, most NSAC Spiritualist churches provide development classes in mediumship, spiritual healing and concepts of Spiritualism.
  

• A variety of techniques for spirit communications are experimented with.  All will, in some way, provide evidence of the continuation of life.
  

• The churches are experiencing phenomena, some being very impressive.  This is an important point.  It is possible to develop mediumship ability, but it is not a trivial matter to communicate across the veil.  Should you be a scientist seeking to have a study group for research into these phenomena, it is reasonable for you to conclude that you should seek out a Spiritualist Church for assistance.
